Magna – the Spirit of Truth. Discovered deep within the mines of Kiruna, this artwork draws inspiration from the rich history and geological wonders of the region. The mines, known for their stunning mineral formations, serve as a powerful backdrop, reflecting the journey of unearthing hidden truths.
With its luminous presence and fluid, shifting colors, Magna encourages reflection on the nature of honesty and the pursuit of knowledge, reminding us that truth, holds the promise of transformation and growth.
Magna, the Spirit of Truth,
was discovered deep in the mines of Kiruna and can weigh the truthfulness of your thoughts.
Magna is part of the exhibitiono Moving Frontiers, a collaboration between Poikki Art & Design Camp And Koami Art Lab.
The exhibition Moving Frontiers is about exploring the boundary between the physical and the digital, moving beyond what we know to be real, or think we know.
The installation consists of two parts. The physical artwork Kiruna's Birth is a magnetite egg that cracks open as the human and warm core needs to emerge. A reflection of the egg can be experienced in the digital artwork Magna, a floating virtual spirit. Scan the QR code above with your phone to view the piece.
The physical egg is created by Arne Bergh and Jens Thoms Ivarsson, the team behind the floating gallery POIKKI. The virtual piece is created by Jimmy Herdberg and Anna Lebar Sanders from the art group KOAMI.
